The University of Ryukyu and Okinawa Institute of Science and Technology plan to hold the 2011 Asia Pacific Science and Technology Youth Exchange Forum as follows.

B. Place: Okinawa Institute of Science and Technology, Okinawa, Japan
C. Theme: Corals in 21st century, and the future of island, government and coastal communities
D. Dates: 2011.08.23. ~ 8. 26.
E. Concept: Present and discuss the problems and their solutions facing Pacific region communities (English and
Japanese used)
F. Participants: 40 students, 20 each from Japan and elsewhere, 10 expert panelists (ecologists, coral biologists,
climatologists, economists, sustainable development specialists)
G. Invitees: College students from Japan and Pacific Rim communities
H. Cost to be paid by sponsors: international airfares, accommodations, meals, conference and social events
(domestic airfares and insurance premiums are not included)
2. Screening of participants
A. Qualifications: Undergraduate students at Jeju National University
B. Number of finalists: 2 (to be recommended to the University of Ryukyu)
