2010 Seoul Science & Technology Forum (November 18 – 20, 2010)

The 2010 Seoul S&T Forum will be held on November 18-20 in Seoul, Korea. The Forum is hosted by the Korea Research Council of Fundamental Science and Technology (KRCF), organized by the Korea Institute of Science and Technology (KIST) and the Science & Technology Policy Institute (STEPI), and sponsored by the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology (MEST) of Korea.

The Forum, entitled “International Cooperation of Public Research Institutes for Green Growth,” aims to discuss the roles of Public Research Institutes (PRIs) around the world and international cooperation among PRIs for Global Green Growth (G3). This discussion ultimately purports to form a sound and robust global S&T network among world-leading PRIs. This network will provide an efficient and effective platform to share existing S&T knowledge and to explore new S&T ideas toward G3. This platform will help to build trustworthy partnerships among developed and developing countries.

Development Forum for the G20.Strategies for Social Protection in the Global Multi-Crises: Seoul Development Debate (October, 22)

Part of the Development Forum for the G20 will include a televised debate entitled Seoul Development Debate, which will be broadcast by the Korean television channel, KBS. A panel of speakers at the debate will discuss issues related to economic and social development, the Millennium Development Goals, the effectiveness of Official Development Assistance and the role of the Republic of Korea as an emerging donor. It is intended to reach ordinary citizens, including young people who are interested in development issues.

International Student Week

An International Student Week is an exchange festival for international students. It is open to all the international students in SNU. In this week (15th. Nov. ~ 19th. Nov.) students can participate in cultural activities to get acquainted with the dormitory, the university, the each other's culture and the other students. It is accompanied by many cultural side-events, such as concerts, movies, international menu and so on. Those events mostly organized by Gwanaksa.
